Through the Darkness, into the Light
Sometimes, I forget about the dark path that I have travelled. Sometimes, I feel that it was someone else’s life that I am talking about. Sometimes, I find it hard to believe that I have kept my smile, my optimism and my zest for life…
When Alexandra Anderson of Come Adrift contacted me to share my story, I had an opportunity to write my story and acknowledge some of the dark times that I have experienced.
She is the one who has done my makeup, hair and taken the photos. Pretty Amazing eh 🙂
Then I also realised how far I have come. How difficult and lonely the healing journey has been but I kept going and I have come to the other side. This is not to say that I am completely healed but I have come a lonnnnnnggggg way.
So this blog is simply to acknowledge us – the survivors. To acknowledge all the hard work we have done and still do every day.
We are the bravest souls on this planet.
We put on a brave face and keep putting one foot in front of other.
We are there for others, sometimes at the expense of our own wellbeing.
We continue to heal no matter how difficult.
We bear the pain of our traumas and still keep on fighting…
We are simply amazing.
