Ruby Usman

Ruby was born in the slums of Karachi, Pakistan. She has experienced sexual abuse at the hands of many men as a child; some of them strangers and others, close family members. She grew up as a Muslim woman and experienced violence as an integral part of society and culture. She now writes about these traditions and hopes that by starting these debates, a new face of Islam is revealed. A new Islam with love, compassion and forgiveness for ALL irrespective of their gender, race and colour.

Yikes! That was so cool to watch you do that jump, you are so brave! I once did a zip line over the jungle that included 2 rappels (one down a cliff and one off a platform) and was able to let go but you stepping off that platform took my fear to a whole new level. There are so many fears I have faced and so many left to experience… I’m inclined to get in the water slowwwwly where others just dive in. It works better for me to slowly increase my comfort level but that probably wouldn’t work for a “diver”. Thankfully our time in our human meat suit includes plenty of opportunity to face fears if we can just embrace them for the thrill that they can be.
Thanks for sharing your shrieking video! 🙂
